Welcome to the Youth Talent 2006 results page. Here you will find the results of one of the most exciting talent searches that are going on across PEI this summer! As each Talent Search competition completes, the top 3 performers from each will be mentioned here, along with a picture of each of the winners. Check back regularly to see who the candidates are for representing PEI at the national competition this year!


Provincial Champions!!!!!


Tessa Mossey and Bryana Cook were chosen as this year’s Provincial Champions! Tessa and Bryana will represent Prince Edward Island at the Canadian Youth Talent competition which will be held in Edmonton, Alberta on November 16th during the annual conference of the Canadian Association of Fairs and Exhibitions.

Best of luck to Tessa and Bryana! We’re proud of you!!!


Tignish Irish Moss Festival - Sunday, July 2, 2006
First place winners:

Nautical Mile is a band that has been together for 4 years. From left to right are Steven Myers who plays bass guitar, Gregory Profit who plays lead guitar, Mike O’Halloran who plays drums, and Jordan LeClair who is the lead singer and plays rhythm guitar. Marcella Gaudet on the right was one of the three judges of this competition.

The second place winner was Kyla Cook. The third place winner was Matthew Allain.

Other competitors were Robyn McRae, Jessica Shields, and Alex Brennan with Breanne Hogan.

It was definitely a great show!


Egmont Bay Youth Talent Competition - Monday, July 10, 2006
First place winner:

Matthew Allain is a talented local competitor with a drive to win. Competing in multiple talent contest throughout this summer, he has been able to impress judges wherever he goes. To his credit, he achieved first place in the Egmont Bay Youth Talent Competition.

The second place winners were Bryanna Cook and Tessa Mossey. The third place winner was Kyla Cook.

Other competitors were BreeAnne Hogan, Kristin MacDonald and Samantha MacKinnon, Just Dancing (Kristin MacDonald, Samantha MacKinnon, Megan Mitchell, Sarah Doran), and Ashley Pitre.

Tons of talent showed up for this competition. Worth every minute!


Tracadie Community Festival Youth Talent Competition - Saturday, July 22, 2006

Unfortunately, the Tracadie Community Festival Youth Talent Competition was cancelled.
 


Prince County Exhibition Youth Talent Competition - Thursday, August 3, 2006
First place winners:

Tessa Mossey and Bryana Cook. Persistent and talented describe Tessa and Bryana perfectly. They took home the first place award at this year’s Prince County Exhibition Youth Talent Competition. Amid a crowd of other very talented youth, they wowed the judges with their skill. Congratulations Tessa and Bryana! Well done!

The second place winner was Chelsey Gallant. The third place winner was Kyla Cook.

Other competitors included Robyn McRae, Melissa Strang, Carlene Brennan, Janelle Gallant, BreeAnne Hogan, and Jessica Shields.

Absolutely a high caliber ladies-night of competition.


Kensington Community Harvest Festival Youth Talent Competition - Sunday, August 20, 2006
First place winner:

Kyla Cook is one talented young lady. Bringing out her best performance yet this season took her to the top of the field and got her first place at the Kensington Community Harvest Festival Youth Talent Competition.

The second place winner was Trinity Bradshaw. The third place winner was Chelsey Gallant.

If you didn’t get to attend this competition, start making plans to attend next year, today!


Provincial Plowing Match and Agricultural Fair Youth Talent Competition in Dundas - Sunday, August 27, 2006
First place winner:

Cameron Francis has talent from the top of his head to the soles of his feet. Tonight, his feet did the “talking” and this talented stepdancer ran away with the top award at this year’s Provincial Plowing Match and Agricultural Fair Youth Talent Search in Dundas.

The second place winners were Samantha MacKinnon and Kristan MacDonald (also dancers). The third place winner was Megan Burke of Charlottetown who also was a dancer.

Other competitors included two vocal soloists, a band, another dance duo, and a fiddler.

An appreciative crowd was on hand to enjoy all the talent. This show will be talked about for many weeks to come!
